A car should track straight on a level road with a light grip on the wheel. If it constantly pulls to one side, it is a comfort issue that is also wearing your tires unevenly.
Check tire pressure first
The most common and cheapest cause is uneven tire pressure. A soft tire on one side drags and pulls the car that way. Set all tires to the correct pressure and test again before anything else.
Alignment
If pressures are equal and it still pulls, the wheel alignment is likely off, often after hitting a pothole or kerb. Alignment issues also show up as one edge of a tire wearing faster than the other.
Tires and brakes
A worn or damaged tire can pull, and swapping the front tires side to side can confirm it if the pull moves. A sticking brake caliper drags one wheel and pulls under braking while getting hot.
